British Home Front 'YMCA' Helmet 1943. Civil Defence MkII helmet of the YMCA ( Young Mens Christian Association ) with insignia to front & 1943 date to underside of rim. Maker 'BMB' for Briggs Motor Bodies. The YMCA were manning mobile canteens for those that had been bombed out of their homes as a result of enemy action.
