Victorian Home Service Helmet ,Hertfordshire Yeomanry. Complete with leather backed chinstrap. Red backed Herts Yeomanry helmet plate is still securely affixed with unscrewable helmet spike in excellent order. The leather edging is partially present although having mostly decayed over the years . Interior to helmet remains intact with all four lugs of the cruciform spike base still held in place with their original triangular leather wedges. Some of the cork around the lower edging is frayed with a number of moth nips to the grey felt in places.
